The NEBOSH IIRSM Certificate in Managing Risk is a perfect choice for anyone who wants to be able to identify, evaluate, and manage risks and understand their impacts for an organisation. It will help you develop risk management skills that can be used in any organisation, industry, and job, anywhere in the world!

This qualification is particularly relevant for risk professionals looking to gain a broader view of risk beyond a specialism such as health and safety, quality, or business continuity.

Course Details

This qualification is initially available via eLearning only, which means you can complete your studies at a time, place, and pace convenient to you. A classroom option will be available later in the year.

The eLearning course provides a comprehensive overview of business risk, and through your studies you will learn:

  • the principles of risk and risk management
  • the risk management process and framework based on ISO 31000
  • the relationship between psychology and decision-making
  • how to analyse the environment in which an organisation operates, identifying potential risks and opportunities
  • the relationship between risk management, business continuity, crisis management and organisational resilience.

Length of Course

It will take a minimum of 28 hours to complete the NEBOSH IIRSM Certificate in Managing Risk eLearning course and a further 1 hour for the assessment. The standard enrolment period for the course is 90 days from receipt of your joining instructions, and the assessment needs to be completed within this period.

Assesssment

Your knowledge and understanding of the syllabus are tested by an onscreen multiple-choice examination.

This assessment is available on-demand, which means once you have completed the eLearning course, you can attempt the assessment at any time and will receive your results immediately. If you pass, you will be awarded a NEBOSH IIRSM Certificate in Managing Risk and will be able to print off your certificate straightaway.

Professional recognition and SQA Recognition

SQA Recognition

The NEBOSH IIRSM Certificate in Managing Risk is not accredited by the SQA Accreditation. However, it is broadly comparable to Level 6 in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF), comparable to RQF Level 3 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Professional Recognition
Holders of the NEBOSH IIRSM Certificate in Managing Risk will be eligible for Associate membership of IIRSM. You will be entitled to a 25% discount off your first year’s subscription. Your Learning Partner will explain how to secure this discount.
